Two police officers killed in Russian Kabardino-Balkariya

Two police officers were killed in their police car by an unidentified person in the capital of Kabardino-Balkariya republic Nalchik on Thursday. The criminal fled away and has not been found yet. The police are investigating the accident.

According to the Associated Press, a duty officer with the Interior Ministry of the Kabardino-Balkariya region said the two officers were patrolling in the regional capital, Nalchik, Wednesday night when a man approached and shot them repeatedly at point blank range with a Kalashnikov rifle before fleeing.

As Pravda.ru reports, both officers died on the way to hospital.

Similar accident happened in Chechnya. Wednesday night a police officer was patrolling his area when a group of people opened fire on his car. The police officer died on the way to hospital. A local citizen, who was with him in the car that moment, was also killed.
