An 18-year-old boy killed 5 people before killing himself

An 18-year-old who was about to graduate from &to=http:// english.pravda.ru/world/20/91/368/14338_shooting.html ' target=_blank>high school is believed to have fatally shot his grandparents, mother and two family friends before killing himself, authorities said Monday.

Logan County Sheriff Michael Henry said he was unsure if authorities would ever find out why Scott Moody committed the shootings early Sunday morning, "but we're going to try." The rampage at neighboring farmhouses came just hours after a party to celebrate the pending graduation.

Moody's younger sister was wounded and was in critical condition on Monday, informs the Washington Post.

Sheriff Henry said the authorities received a call shortly before 11 a.m. Sunday alerting them to the shootings at two homes. "The surviving victim called a friend by cellphone and told what happened," the sheriff said.

The authorities found four of the dead inside a home on Highway 47 and two others dead next door.

Those found inside the first house were Paige Harshbarger, 14; Megan Karus, 19; Scott Moody, 18; and Sheri Shafer, 37. Stacy Moody, 15, was found with a gunshot wound to the neck. She was listed in serious condition on Sunday night.

Scott Moody was to graduate Sunday afternoon from Riverside High School, Sheriff Henry said.

In the second house were the bodies of Sharyl Shafer, 66, and her husband, Gary, 67. The couple were related to Sheri Shafer, the authorities said.
