Quake's aftershocks continue rock Japan

Strong aftershocks are still shaking northern Japan after the country's deadliest earthquake in nine years killed at least 24 people.

A 5.6-magnitude earthquake hit just after dawn this morning, swaying buildings and deepening fears that the area's already shaky infrastructure would suffer more damage.

Several other, smaller aftershocks were felt through the night, and Japan's Meteorological Agency has warned of more to come.

At least 1,500 were injured in the initial 6.8-magnitude tremor yesterday in the rural region of Niigata 150 miles north of Tokyo, informs ITV.
