Mi-24 helicopter from the Russian Defense Ministry's helicopter regiment was shelled in Chechnya while on combat duty, a source at the headquarters of the United Group of Forces in Northern Caucasus said.
Consequently, the helicopter was damaged and forced to land in the Vedeno district center.
"Nobody was injured," added the source.
He said that operations to discover and kill militants are continuously being carried out in the Vedeno district. The Mi-24 helicopter was covering and supporting the task forces' groups in that district.
