Nine chechens killed

Unidentified people have murdered nine Chechen residents in the Shali district, a source in the republic's police told RIA Novosti.

"At 12:30 p.m. on Friday, local residents of the Serzhen-Yurt settlement discovered nine male bodies with gunshot wounds in a dried up channel," the source said.

According to the local police, eight of the nine men were from Duba-Yurt settlement, and the ninth body is being identified. According to experts, the men died about two days ago. Inquiry has been launched.
