About 400 kg of marijuana confiscated in Russian Far East

The staffers of the Amur (the Far East) and Chita (Eastern Siberia) Regional directorates of the Federal Service for Controlling Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Turnover blocked a channel for supply of drugs from the Amur area to the Chita Region.

Three drug traffickers who carried drugs from the Amur Region to the Chita Region were detained in the course of an interregional operation in Chita, RIA Novosti was told in the press centre of the directorate of the Federal Service for Controlling Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Turnover for the Amur Region on Friday.

About 400 kg of marijuana were confiscated at a village of the Blagoveshchensk district of the Amur Region in the course of the further investigation. As many as 21 bags of marijuana were kept in a cache equipped in an outdoor building. The 33-year-old owner of the house has two previous convictions for crimes relating to drugs.

A criminal case was filed, and an investigation is under way.
