Earthquake measuring 2 on Richter scale shakes Southern Kuriles
An earthquake measuring 2 on the Richter scale shook the Southern Kuriles (the Far-Eastern Federal District) at 01.21 local time on Saturday.
The epicenter is located 630 kilometers to the southeast of Kunashir Island, near Japan's Hokkaido Island, the seismic station of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk told RIA Novosti.
Seismic waves in the epicenter measured 5.9 on the Richter scale.
No victims and destructions were reported in the Southern Kuriles.
