Search for snowboarders lost in North Caucasus continues

The Emergency Situations Ministry (MChS) of Russia told RIA Novosti that on Tuesday rescue workers continued the search for the snowboarders who were lost on Mt. Cheget (a mountain resort in Kabardin-Balkaria, a Russian republic in the Northern Caucasus).

Seven snowboarders from Moscow left the Terskol settlement to go skiing on February 10 and did not return. The search for the young people began on February 12.

MChS officials said, "the bodies of four snowboarders were found during the search and rescue work on the northern slope of Mt. Cheget on February 20-21. A fifth body was found on February 23." According to the MChS, 164 people, 22 pieces of equipment, two aircraft, and nine dogs are participating in the search.
