Terrorist act in Moscow subway committed by suicide bomber?

According to the main version of the Russian FSB, the explosion in the Moscow metro was committed by a suicide bomber, Deputy Director of the FSB (Federal Security Service) Vyacheslav Ushakov said on Monday.

"The investigation is now focusing on several versions, but the terrorist act was obviously committed by a suicide bomber," said Ushakov. He specified that judging by the manner of the crime, this terrorist act is similar to the one committed late last year in a commuter train in Yessentuki (southern Russia: Stavropol territory bordering on Chechnya).

Ushakov confirmed that the information about the death toll and those wounded had not changed: the explosion claimed 39 lives and wounded 124 people.

The blast thundered at 8:32 on Friday morning.
