Abkhazia welcomes operation to disarm Georgian partisans

Abkhazia has welcomed the arrest of members of the Georgian partisan band Forest Brothers. According to Imedi radio station, this was announced by Abkhazian Vice-President Valery Arshba.

Mr Arshba is convinced that the special operation in the Zugdidi operation demonstrates the determination of the new Georgian government to stamp out crime. Now, he said, the people on both sides of the Inguri river, which separates Georgia and Abkhazia, will feel more secure.
