Weapons depot discovered in Ingushetia

Members of the Russian Security Service (FSB) and the Interior Ministry have found a depot of weapons and ammunition in the Sunzhensky district of Ingushetia (the Southern Federal District) which borders on Chechnya, the Ingush Interior Ministry disclosed.

"The day before, policemen detained 29-year-old Musa Iliyev in one of the houses in the village of Troitskaya in the Sunzhensky district. The resident of the village of Guli in the Dzheirakhsky district, is suspected in taking part in illegal armed formations," said a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

When inspecting the house, which belongs to a relative of the detained, the policemen came across a whole arsenal. It contained a Kalashnikov assault rifle, a zinc box with 9-mm. cartridges, three F-1 grenades, 122 electric detonators, ten 200-grams trinitrotoluene blocks, two timing devices and 400 grams of plastic explosives.

The investigation is underway, the Ingush Interior Ministry reported.
