Tushino attack organizer killed?

Saayev, the militant killed in Russia's North Caucasian republic of Ingushetia, happens to be a suspect behind the terrorist attack in Tushino, Moscow, a source in the republic's Interior Ministry reported on Friday.

On July 5, 2003, two Chechen women terrorists blew themselves up at a rock festival in Tushino, killing 14 people and wounding several dozen.

After the terrorist attack, Saayev went under several false names, including the Slavonic names of Kondratov and Chugunov.

The militant was killed during a clash with policemen and officers from the Federal Security Service Department for Ingushetia, who had encountered armed resistance while conducting a special operation in the village of Yandyri, Nazran district. Three other people were arrested. They turned out to be Chechen subjects and are suspected of being involved with illegal armed units. Three policemen were wounded in the clash and had to be hospitalized.
