Group of corrupt policemen and criminals exposed in Siberia

The Federal Security Service (FSB) department for the Kemerovo region, in cooperation with the department for fighting organized crime of the Main Interior Affairs Department, has exposed a criminal group that involved ex and acting policemen, justice department officers and criminals in the region.

The regional prosecutor's office that investigated into the case revealed that within 1999-2001 the gang committed 3 murders, 1 attempted murder, 9 kidnappings, 12 robberies. Moreover, the prosecutor's office revealed 15 illegal arms deals. 32 people suffered from the crimes perpetrated by the group.

The criminals' guilt was proven. Ten of the 18 members of the group were charged with banditry and sentenced to long terms of imprisonment.
