Three Russian servicemen and a Chechen Interior Ministry officer killed

Three servicemen of Russian interior troops were killed in Chechnya on Thursday. A strong-point of the interior troops of the Russian Interior Ministry was fired at by a group of militants from submachine guns and grenade-launchers in the settlement of Sernovodsk in the Achkhoi-Martan district south-west of Grozny , the Interior Ministry of Chechnya has reported today.

As a result of a grenade explosion three servicemen on duty were killed. Return fire was opened. No casualties among the militants have been reported.

On the same day in the capital of Chechnya Grozny a car of an officer of the republic's interior ministry was fired at by the militants. The car of the ministry's senior inspector Isa Inderbayev stopped at the crossroads when it was attacked. The policeman died on the spot.
