Federal troops pursuing militants near Ingush village of Galashki

Units of the federal forces are pursuing a group of up to 10 militants discovered at 11:30, Moscow time, near the Ingush village of Galashki (Ingushetia is Chechnya's neighbor), the RIA Novosti correspondent quotes the headquarters of the united group of federal forces in the North Caucasus as saying by phone.

"This morning a unit of the 58th army performing current missions near the administrative border between North Ossetia and Ingushetia has been engaged in a clash with a group of militants", the headquarters' spokesman said.

According to him, the group has been dispersed and a pursuit has begun.

The press service of the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the clash information but refused to comment on it.
