A Greece court will hear the case on Gusinsky's extradition on Monday, August 25th, RIA Novosti learned the day before in a phone conversation with security chief of the Athens international airport Dimitris Zoumaras.

"The detainee will face the prosecutor of the appellate court," he said.

Gusinksy is kept in premises for detainees under ordinary conditions, there are lawyers at his disposal to consult with, he said.

The Russian Embassy to Athens still refuse to comment on Gusinsky's detention. However, a source in the Greek law-enforcement structures confirmed to RIA Novosti that the Public Security Ministry of Greece was updating the Russian Embassy on the situation.

Former Russian media tycoon Vladimir Gusinsky was detained on Thursday, August 21st, in the Athens international airport, Eleftherios Venizelos. According to a representative of the airport's security department, when checking his passport it turned out he was wanted by the Russian authorities on charges of fraud. The same day a Greek court issued an order for Gusinky's temporary detention.
