Power plant incident causes total blackout in Georgia

An incident took place at the Inghuri hydroelectric power plant in the area of the Georgian-Abkhaz conflict in Western Georgia this morning. As a result of the incident, electrical power supply has been cut off throughout Georgia. A source in the Fuel and Energy Ministry of Georgia told RBC that power supply had not been restored yet. Water supply has been cut off all over Georgia too. The Fuel and Energy Ministry is holding talks with RAO UES of Russia on importing electrical power.
