The chieftain of a Chechen illegal armed unit has been murdered by his own son, RIA Novosti was told at the regional anti-terrorist operation headquarters.
According to the source, the body of Shamil Gadayev, 54, an active participant in illegal armed units, has been discovered in the Achkhoi-Martan District in the west of Chechnya. The body carried signs of a violent death. It was found out that Gadayev was murdered by his own son, Akhmet.
According to the main version, the father and the son had a fight over the money they had gained by drugs-trafficking, the headquarters spokesman reported.
At the moment, there is a search on for the suspected murderer.
It is known that Gadayev used to work for the so-called "State Security Department of Ichkeria" during the Maskhadov regime: he was the head of a group of kidnappers.
