Six local residents have been killed in the Kalinovskaya village in the Naur district of Chechnya.
About three o'clock in the morning a group of armed criminals on five UAZ cars entered the village, RIA Novosti learned from head of the district's administration Vladimir Nazarenko.
"The bandits shot a family of four in one of the private houses. Then they burst in a neighbour house, shot two people in presence of their relatives, and left the scene of the crime," Nazarenko said.
Though the Naur district is considered a "quiet" one, the head of the administration had insisted "on increasing the number of checkpoints as they are not enough to ensure citizens' security," he said.
All law-enforcement bodies of Chechnya are involved in investigating the murder, Nazarenko pointed out.
Earlier the republic's Interior Ministry reported to RIA Novosti that five people had been killed in the Nadterechny district. According to preliminary information, "the victims were servicemen of security service of Akhmad Kadyrov, head of the Chechen administration".
