An attempt was made on the life of head of the Chechen administration Akhmad Kadyrov in the Gudermes district of Chechnya.
"Last night a group of unknown individuals fired at us near the Tsotsyn-Yurt village," Kadyrov said Tuesday at the session of the republic's government. "One of my bodyguards was wounded," he added.
This is not the first attempt on Kadyrov's life. Earlier the republic's prosecutor Vladimir Kravchenko had said the investigation believed he had been the target of the May 14 terrorist act.
On May 14th, a suicide bomber killed 18 and wounded 145 people during a religious celebration in Gudermes.
