Head of Ersenoi village's administration kidnapped in Chechnya

Unknown criminals have kidnapped the head of the administration of the Ersenoi village, 38-year-old Nasukhanova, in Chechnya's Vedeno district.

The Chechen Interior Ministry reported on Monday that at about 4 p.m. on Saturday masked and armed criminals stopped a Zhiguli car carrying Nasukhanova, her female relation, 33, the head of the post office of the village and two contract servicemen of the Russian Defence Ministry.

"Threatening with guns the bandits forced the Zhiguli passengers board two UAZ cars without licence plates and took them in an unknown direction," the agency's interlocutor said.

The Interior Ministry added that measures were being taken to find the kidnapped people and arrest the criminals.
