The Russian Frontier Guards Detain a Group of Drug Couriers at the Afghan Border

Ten armed drug couriers were detained last night at the Tajik-Afghan border by Russian frontier guards.

As the press service of the Russian frontier guards in Tajikistan has reported, in the mountain section of the border in the zone of the responsibility of the Moscow frontier detachment (some 250 kilometres to the south-east of Dyushambe) Russian frontier guards noticed a group of ten people who were making their way from the border deep into the territory of Tajikistan.

The frontier guards detained the trespassers. During personal examination, they found five Kalashnikov sub-machine guns with fifteen armed magazines, a Makarov pistol with 400 cartridges, two foreign portable radio stations and sixteen kilogrammes of heroin.

The Russian frontier guards are carrying out investigations.
