British Authorities Arrest Al-Jazeera Correspondent

Qatar's Al-Jazeera satellite television channel accuses British military authorities, who control the Basra sea-port in southern Iraq, of arresting its correspondent Mohammed As Sayed Musen. The man was kept behind bars for three consecutive hours. The British then confiscated all equipment from the company's local office.

Moreover, Al-Jazeera claims the journalist was warned that he could not engage in his professional activity pending further orders.

The British, who are thus impeding the Qatar's journalist's work, are depriving TV audiences of important information from the conflict zone.
