Bandit leader eliminated in Chechnya

In Chechnya's Urus-Martan district, law-enforcers have eliminated a bandit leader. On Sunday, law-enforcers received a report, stating the whereabouts of Salambek Yusupov, who was an active member of an illegal armed unit since 1999, an launched an operation to capture him, in the course of which the militant tried to resist and was shot down, reported the Regional Operational Headquarters for coordinating the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.

In a separate development near the village of Samashki, Achkhoi-Martan district, officers from the department for combating organized crime arrested three members of another bandit unit. Two of the arrestees are 20 years old, the third is 16 years old. They carried with them a sniper rifle with full ammunition, a Kalashnikov assault rifle, and an underbarrel grenade launcher.
