Hostage liberated in Grozny

The director of an enterprise based in Krasnodar, the center of the Krasnodar territory, Southern Russia, was liberated from captivity on the border of Chechnya's Nadterechnaya and Grozny /Selsky/ districts, reported the Regional Operational Headquarters for coordinating the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.

On Sunday, the military and police were checking into a report that militants' movements in the aforementioned area when they spotted a Zhiguli car, whose driver did not stop when ordered to do so. Later, the car was found on the outskirts of a field, with an unconscious man in its trunk. Coming to, the man introduced himself as a director of a Krasnodar enterprise and said he had was hostage on the premises of an oil park in Chechnya's Grozny /Selsky/ district since September 11, 2001, when he and another employee of his enterprise were coshed on the head and kidnapped.

According to the headquarters, law enforcers have already discovered the place where the hostages were kept. According to the director of the Krasnodar enterprise, his employee was moved to a different location 2 months ago. Law enforcers have opened a criminal case into kidnapping and are tracking down the criminals.
