Large quantity of ammunition found on Chechen section of Russian-Georgia border

On Sunday, a raiding and scouting party of the Itum-Kali detachment, which controls the Chechen section of the Russian-Georgia border, discovered a cache containing about 7,000 pieces of ammunition of different calibres and 12 antipersonnel mines of different modifications, reported the press service of the North Caucasian Regional Department of Russia's Federal Frontier Service. The cache was located in the hills, at the junction of the rivers Mskhy and Khacharoiakhk.

The ammunition and the mines were handed over to the headquarters of the border detachment. According to the press service, such discoveries prove, once again, that Chechen separatists based on the territory of Georgia are getting ready to resume their attempts at crossing the Russian border.
