In Chechnya's Achkhoi-Martan district, militants attacked an armored personnel carrier of the federal forces with small arms, wounding a soldier of Russia's interior troops, reported the Regional Operational Headquarters for coordinating the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus.
The incident occurred yesterday around 5 o'clock in the evening Moscow time, on the Rostov-Baku highway by the village of Samashki. In a separate development on the same day, militants attacked checkpoint No.20 in the Staropromyslovsky district of the Chechen capital Grozny and checkpoint No.138 in Alkhan-Kala, Grozny district. No one was hurt. Response fire was opened on both occasions. Nothing was reported about casualties among the militants.
