One of ring-leaders of Chechen militants financed terrorist acts committed in the territory of Chechnya

On Tuesday RIA Novosti was informed by the headquarters of the United Grouping of forces that one of ring-leaders of Chechen militants Abu Valid financed out of funds received from abroad sabotage and terrorist acts committed earlier in the territory of Chechnya. Headquarters representatives pointed out that Abu Valid was trying to impress ring-leaders of illegal armed formations that he got the money and the militants would encounter no problems with getting paid for their criminal activities. At the same time the headquarters' representatives stated that Valid was trying to introduce new rules of financial settlement. The headquarters officials reported that if earlier the money had been spent on prepayment of terrorist acts, then presently new schemes were introduced according to which payment was effected after the act was committed. The headquarters of the United Grouping of forces reported that they registered a sharp increase of mutual suspicions between Maskhadov, the leader of Chechen separatists, and Valid who claimed to play not only the role of a commander but also of the political leader of militants which Maskhadov did not like. The headquarters representatives reported that in order to make all "field commanders" subordinate to him Valid was sending letters to them threatening to bring them to Shariat trial for passivity.
