Chechen terrorist arrested in Grozny

A militant involved in a terrorist act which left one policeman killed and two wounded past April has been arrested in Grozny. The regional operational staff on the co-ordination of the counter-terrorist operation in the North Caucasus reported on Monday that the day before officers of the interim Interior Ministry department had arrested a local suspected of terrorism. It was established during the investigation that on April 28th, 2002 the man opened fire from a grenade launcher on a truck which was carrying officers of the mobile unit of the Russian Interior Ministry, participants in special operations. A senior operative of the Interior Ministry's main department of the Kemerovo region was killed and another two operatives were wounded in the explosion. At present the arrestee is giving testimony.
