Bandits Kill Administrators Of A Chechen Settlement

Saikhan Chukayev, head of the administration of the settlement of Novaya Zhizn /New Life/ of Chechnya's Kurchaloi district, and his deputy Umar-Pasha Usmanov have been killed. According to a spokesman for the Combined Russian Interior Ministry Forces in the North Caucasus, locals found their bodies with gun-shot wounds. A group of detectives has been formed to launch an investigation into the crime supposedly committed by Chechen militants.
