Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov voiced today Moscow's support of the Egypt-Jordan initiative on Middle East settlement. In conclusion of negotiations with President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt, the Russian minister told the press that Moscow viewed this initiative as a ground for settling the current crisis in the region. Igor Ivanov believes that the conflicting sides should also take the initiative into consideration. In its turn, Russia is ready to offer its assistance in resolving the crisis, the minister added.
