Three Men Suspected Of Kidnapping Grozenergo Chief Accountant Detained In Chechnya

Three men suspected of kidnapping the chief GROZENERGO accountant in May 1996 have been detained in Chechnya. RIA Novosti received this information on Friday at the press service of the North-Caucasian criminal police operational department. The suspected have been detained as a result of a special operation in the villages of Chiri-Yurt and Duba-Yurt which was conducted within the framework of a criminal case being investigated by the prosecutor's office of Chechnya. The press service pointed out that one of the detained already had convictions for rape and a robbery attack. The GROZENERGO chief accountant was freed a month after his relatives paid a ransom to the sum of 35,000 dollars.
