Yemeni Foreign Minister: No Peace Will Come To Mideast Until Israel Agrees To Creation Of Palestinian State

The visiting Foreign Minister of Yemen, Ali Abdallah Saleh, told a Moscow press conference Wednesday that in his opinion, no fair peace will be achieved in the Middle East until Israel agrees to the creation of a Palestinian state, with its capital in Jerusalem. The Yemeni minister pointed out the important role of Russia in the Mideast settlement. According to Mr. Saleh, Russia and Yemen hold similar stands on Iraqi settlement. The sides agree on the necessity of lifting Iraq's blockade and of simultaneously providing sufficient border security and territorial integrity guarantees for adjacent countries, said the Yemeni Foreign Minister.
