The timber star lumber ship with Russian crew safely reached Japan

The Timber Star wood cargo vessel with a Russian crew, registered under the flag of Belize, despite the heavy list which occurred in the open sea, safely reached Japan on the night from Thursday to Friday. The ship is now cast anchor at Chikkonai harbour in Sangar Strait, the officials of the Vladivostok sea rescue-coordinating centre reported. The motor ship owned by the Russian Golden Pride company was going from Nakhodka to Japan with a cargo of timber. In smooth sea conditions in the Sea of Japan the ship got a list which began to gradually increase. The alerted crew dropped 200 cubic metres of timber into the sea. As a result, the list diminished and the vessel reached Japan. By one of the versions, the emergence of the list was caused by breaking adrift of the cargo.
