In the wake of anti-Chinese propaganda 58 per cent of Americans look on China as "unfriendly country"

After the incident with the American spy plane and the anti-Chinese propaganda, unleashed by Washington, 58 per cent of the Americans believe that China is "unfriendly" to the USA. The results were confirmed by the public opinion poll carried out in the USA to order of the A.B.C. TV company, which were published in Washington. According to the poll, only 28 per cent of the Americans still call China a "friendly" state. The study showed also a perceptible growth of anti-Chinese sentiments in American society over the past few years. When an analogous poll was held in 1998, 47 per cent of Americans called China "unfriendly" and 39 per cent believed that China was "friendly" to the USA.
