Yasser Arafat spoke with Colin Powell on the phone
Head of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat had a phone conversation with US Secretary of State Colin Powell last night. According to informed sources in Palestine, the talk was initiated by the American side. The sources claim that the conversation highlighted developments on Palestinian territories in the context of the escalating Palestine-Israeli confrontation, along with international efforts to revive peace process in the Middle East. Arafat's advisor Nabil Abu Rudinah indicated that the talk had been held in the framework of permanent contacts between the Palestinian leadership and the US administration.
