Last Burning Oil Well Put Out In Chechnya

On October 18 the last burning oil well has been extinguished in Chechnya. There were 40 such burning oil wells there. Now Chechnya turns out over 3,000 tonnes of oil daily. By the year end the volume is to increase to 5,000 tonnes. Chechen oil goes to export and receipts go for the rehabilitation of the Chechen republic. In addition, one oil refinery has been commissioned and a second refinery is in the making. Construction is done by the oil company Rosneft.
