Abkhazian Parliament Addressed OSCE To Help Settle Conflict

The parliament of Abkhazia (self-proclaimed republic on the Georgian territory) has addressed the Organization on Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to help in settling the Georgian-Abkhazian conflict, according to Tatyana Guliya, staffer of Abkhazian permanent mission to Moscow. The address notes that the OSCE "is giving unilateral support to Georgia while examining the issues related to the settlement." According to Abkhazian deputies, this international organization "does not consider the opinion of Abkhazians bringing against them groundless accusations of ethnic cleansing." Abkhazian deputies think that the OSCE position prompted Georgia to encourage subversive and terrorist activities of its secret services, and the recent events are unfaltering evidence to this fact." According to the Abkhazian side, all controversial issues can be solved only through diplomatic efforts and only in a peaceful manner. Guliya also said that similar appeals had been addressed to the parliaments of Greece, Turkey, and Ukraine.
