Abkhazia Accuses Georgia's Authorities Of Involvement In International Terrorist Activities

Abkhazia's leader Vladislav Ardzinba has claimed that he has "irrefutable evidence" showing the involvement of Georgia's authorities in international terrorist activities. The Abkhazian leader said this on Thursday in his message to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Terrorists led by notorious Chechen warlord Ruslan Gelayev, who intruded into the Kodori Gorge in Abkhazia the other day, were trained under Arab and Georgian instructors at a base in the Pankisi Gorge on Georgian territory, says Ardzinba. According to him, this became known from testimonies given by captured terrorists. Prisoners of war "testified to regular contacts between heads of Georgia's power structures and terrorists", the letter also says. Ardzinba told Putin the Gelayev's bandit groups were issued with arms and ammunition from Georgian army depots.
