Hoisting Of Kursk Submarine Halted For A Few Hours

The hoisting of the Kursk submarine has been halted for a few hours, Vice-Admiral Mikhail Motsak, commander of a special expedition, told journalists. At the moment the Kursk submarine is 15 metres below the Giant-4 barge. Within the next 2.5 hours all the barge's systems will be checked, and two frogmen will inspect the submarine hull. Motsak said that the estimated time of arrival for the barge-plus-submarine system at the roadsteads of Belokamenka Bay near Roslyakovo is 12.00 Wednesday. According to him, the barge is being currently held on station by two tugs moving at a speed of 0.2 knot, which allows canceling underwater currents. After the second compartment is covered with kapron netting, the submarine will begin to be aligned with a special enclosure in the barge.
