All 26 Lifting Devices Attached To The Hull Of Kursk Submarine

All 26 lifting devices have been attached to the hull of the Kursk nuclear submarine, head of the Northern Fleet press service Vladimir Navrotsky told RIA Novosti. He also said all anchors were secured inside the fairleads. By the end of the day, the cables used in the course of the operation will be hoisted to the surface - according to Navrotsky, they won't be needed any more. After that, it will take divers around 6 to 8 hours to attach roll sensors to the submarine's hull. At this moment, the ship Mayo hosts a large and "fateful," as Navrotsky put it, conference with the Special Task Expedition Commander Vice-Admiral Mikhail Motsak attending. At about 4:00 p.m., Moscow time, the conference will close, with Motsak returning to the heavy nuclear-powered guided-missile cruiser Pyotr Veliky to report results of the conference and specify dates of the raising operation to the Murmansk-based press centre through a video hookup.
