More Than 140 Transgressors Of Tajik-Afghan Border Arrested This Year

Russian border guards detained more than 140 violators and prevented 75 attempts of violation of the Tajik-Afghan border this year. During this period, border units engaged into fire contacts with armed transgressors of the state border nearly 50 times, four servicemen were wounded in such operations, the press service at the Russian Frontier Force was quoted as saying. In addition, over the past nine months Russian border guards confiscated over 4,840 kg of various drugs. The Pyandzh, Moskow, Kalay-Khumb and Khorog border units have reinforced their patrols because of the difficult situation in Afghanistan, said the press service.
