Eight Explosive Devices Destroyed In Chechnya Over The Past 24 Hours

Servicemen of the Joint Group of Forces in Chechnya destroyed eight self-made explosive devices over the past 24 hours, the press service to the Russian Interior Ministry was quoted as saying on Thursday. Officers of interim interior departments in Grozny, as well as the ones in Chechnya's Achkhoi-Martan, Vedeno, Grozny, Kurchaloi, Nozhai-Urt and Shali districts have conducted seven search and preventive operations. Passport control officers checked over 18,000 people and 11,000 vehicles. The control revealed 400 administrative offences, including 67 violations of passport regulations. As a result of operations conducted in Grozny, Gudermes and another 14 Chechen settlements, there have been found 13 grenade launchers, 2 machine guns, 5 assault rifles, one pistol, a hunting rifle, 18 artillery shells, 51 grenades, 44 cartridges for grenade launchers, 11 mines, approximately 19,000 bullets and 128 kg of explosive agents. 9 mini oil refineries have been destroyed.
