Terrorist Act Prevented In North Caucasus

A large terrorist act was prevented in the centre of Nazran /a town in Ingushetia, a North Caucasus republic within Russia/ on October 23. An explosive device equalling 1 kg of TNT was defused at the entrance to the central stadium. It was a land mine-based explosive which was to be initiated by a 100-metre-long electric wire. Sportsmen who discovered the explosive immediately reported to law-enforcers about their suspicious find. It is still unclear who was the target of the terrorist act. Ruslan Aushev, president of Ingushetia, regularly visits the stadium to play football there. An investigative and operative group has been set up to probe into the case.
