Russian Border Guards Sentry Comes Under Fire In Ingushetia

A Russian border guards sentry came under fire in Ingushetia, an autonomous republic in the Russian North Caucasus. The press center of Russia's Federal Frontier Service on Friday announced that a short gun burst was fired the previous night at border guards on routine duty half a mile away from a frontier post of the Nazran Border Guards Unit. Three gun bursts were then fired at the post itself. The post's personnel were placed on alert with an "In action!" command. The unit placed fire on the perpetrator's suspected location. The area is being combed at the moment. The border guards reported no injuries, the press center added. A considerable number of Chechen separatists are known to have found shelter in Ingushetia.
