7 Out Of 17 Bodies Extracted From Kursk Were Identified

Russian Prosecutor General Vladimir Ustinov told journalists that over the last two days, 17 bodies of dead seamen were extracted from the Kursk submarine. Discovered were another two bodies. The Prosecutor General indicated that from the 9th compartment they took out the bodies of all 11 submariners who were supposed to be there, according to officer Dmitry Kolesnikov's noted which was found last year. Seven seamen were identified. Last night, Northern Fleet Commander Vyacheslav Popov got in touch with relatives of the identified seamen and discussing matters related to burial and transportation of the dead submariners. Their bodies are expected to be sent home for burial on Saturday and Sunday after a farewell ceremony.
