Aircraft That Crashed Outside New York Blew Up In Midair

An airliner that crashed on Monday near New York exploded in midair, say eyewitnesses quoted by leading American television companies. According to witnesses, the plane was flying at a very low altitude when a loud bang was heard. Following that the airliner fell apart. At least one engine came off. Twelve buildings were damaged at the site of the tragedy. As was reported, a US air force plane was in the air patrolling the airspace above the city. At the same time, there is no information that combat aircraft were scrambled to deal with any threat of a terrorist attack. But US air force fighter planes continue patrolling the airspace above the place of the tragedy.
