Russian Border Guards Seized 5.3 Tons Of Drugs At Tajik-жfghan Border Since Beginning Of 2001

Russian border guards have seized 5.3 tons of different drugs at the Tajik-Afghan border since the beginning of 2001, the press centre of the Russian Federal Frontier Service told RIA Novosti on Wednesday. Raw opium and heroin are prevalent among the drugs confiscated by Russian border guards. Afghanistan is the world leader in the production of these drugs. Another haul of raw opium weighing 30 kilogrammes was seized at the Kalai-Khumb sector of the Tajik border last night, the Russian Border Service said.
