Russia Sends Over 175 Tonnes Of Foods, Other Aid To Afghanistan

Russia has sent over 175 tonnes of foods and equipment to Afghanistan, the Press and Information Department at the Russian Foreign Ministry reported to RIA Novosti on Thursday. In all, 75.5 tonnes of foods /canned foods, cereals, tea, baby food/ and 100 tonnes of equipment -- 320 tents, 6,300 blankets, 10 tonnes of medicines and medical equipment -- have been sent to Afghan civilians. It is planned to send another 58 railway cars and flatcars loaded with foods and equipment before long. Among this amount will be 165 tonnes of flour, tents, beds, mattresses, medicines and travelling electricity plants.
