Russian Border Guards Say Talibs May Break Through To Tajikistan

The Russian Federal Border Guard Service did not exclude the possibility that some of the remaining groups of Talibs may break through to Tajikistan. Director of the Border Guard Service Konstantin Totsky announced this at a meeting with military attaches of foreign embassies in Moscow today. He explained that Talibs and members of other terrorist organizations located in Afghanistan now may try to sneak across to Middle Asia via Tajikistan. At the same time, the head of the Russian Federal Border Guard Service noted there were no such attempts so far. He reported that the strength of Russian border guard troops in Tajikistan is 10,500 people and this is enough for protecting the borders in this region.
